BookTok Made Me Read It, Review

Review | Sinners Anonymous by Somme Sketcher

I started reading this book because I saw a Bookstagram reel that someone made about it and was instantly hooked. That seems to be how I get into reading any mafia romance book… there’s just something about these morally grey men that makes for compelling social media content.

From the beginning, I fell in love with Aurora and Angelo. Seeing their dynamic on the page was so interesting, especially the forbidden aura of their romance because she was engaged to his uncle, the Caporegime. Every stolen moment between the two of them had me holding my breath, this was a book I struggled to put down.

My only qualm with this book is that when I was picking it out I read somewhere that it could be read as a standalone, which definitely is not the case. The book ends on a major cliffhanger and now I’m anxious to read the next book as soon as possible despite originally wanting a one-and-done read.

That being said, I’m not totally mad about picking up the next book. Somme Sketcher has such a captivating writing style and her fast-paced books are easy to get immersed in and devour over a couple of days. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series and getting more of Aurora and Angelo.

Five out of five stars.
