Compassionate, empathetic, and sensitive. These are words that describe your average Pisces including Vanessa Mazur, assistant to Canadian football player Aiden Graves.
Throughout the story, she is consistently empathetic and understanding of Aiden’s rollercoaster of emotions, even though he doesn’t always treat her the way she deserves. At first, he takes Vanessa for granted, and her sensitive demeanour allows him to steamroll over her without being checked, but I love how he learns to really appreciate her throughout the story.
There were definitely moments when I wanted to yell at Vanessa to stand up for herself and not allow Aiden to continue taking advantage of her, but unfortunately, Her Pisces’ indecisiveness gave me whiplash with her walking away in one moment and being forgiving in the next.
This book was my first ever Mariana Zapata read and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. From the thrill of fake dating to the excitement of the sports romance aspect, this book is the perfect read. Vanessa and the heart she wears on her sleeve is definitely a Pisces you can root for.
Four out of five stars.
