As a Canadian, I absolutely adored the true accuracy with which Mike’s character was written, I feel like a lot of authors usually miss when writing Canadian characters but Mike was totally spot on and I loved reading about him.
I also loved how this book unapologetically dealt with difficult themes of grief, and disordered eating tactfully with an emphasis on the importance of mental and emotional health. This book had really great representation and I appreciated how nuanced the topics are dealt with.
Overall, I loved following Aurora through this heartfelt, second-chance romance and learning to love herself. Her character development and healing in this book was so captivating to read and I loved her adorable interaction’s with Mike’s daughter, Olivia.
As far as single dad and nanny fics go, this is definitely one of my favorites. My only qualm with this book is the third-act breakup, which is usually my issue with contemporary romance books. It comes so late into the book that it feels almost like cutting off the romance at its knees in a very rushed way.
Four out of five stars!
