After hearing everyone raving about Elsie Silver following the release of Wild Eyes, I figured I had to get myself an Elsie Silver education. Starting with her Chestnut Springs series, I was excited to delve into the world of bull riding, especially with all the hype these books have online.
I loved following Summer and Rhett in this story, their relationship had a maturity and realism to it that made it intoxicating to read. I loved the magnetism between them and how much of a gentleman Rhett was despite also being possessive and jealous. Him opening doors for Summer and taking care of her even when they’re fighting was so swoon worthy.
This book was so easy to read, and I loved the way it tackled the inner conflict between doing what you love and making the people around you happy. I loved the way Rhett developed as a character, and he’s definitely one of my new favourite book boyfriends.
This was such a fun story to read, and I definitely didn’t see the plot twist coming. I was so shocked and surprised but delighted at how masterfully the conflicts in the book are set up. I am so excited to tear through the rest of the Chestnut Springs series.
Five out of five stars.
