Review | Never Lie by Freida McFadden

I’ve never read a thriller book before, and I don’t think I should have started with one by Freida McFadden because it was just way too enthralling. I was so hooked, I finished this book in one night. Even knowing I had a full shift at work and other plans the next day, I just couldn’t put it down, desperate to unravel the mystery.

From the beginning, I was suspicious of everyone but fell for all the different twists, guessing till the very end. I loved how masterfully the fractured timeline was woven together, simultaneously telling the stories of Adrienne and Tricia. I was obsessed with how perfectly everything connected when all the pieces came together.

I also read this book as part of a round of travelling annotations with my coworkers, which definitely enhanced my reading experience. Getting to not only enjoy the book, but also my friend’s hilarious commentary while adding my own made it such a special read. I’d definitely recommend trying travelling annotations with your bibliophile friends!

Five out of five stars.
